Although leiomyoma of esophagus is the most common benign esophageal tumor, it is still a rare condition. Most tumors are small in size and a few patient present symptoms like dysphagia, substernal chest pain, pyrosis. Most leiomyomas are diagnosed on contrast esophagography, chest radiography and computed tomography. Endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasonography are useful techniques for the diagnosis and making treatment related decision. Resection of tumor is recommended in symptomatic patient. Herein we discuss giant leiomyoma that is annular encircling and serpiginous extending to esophagus during work up of patient with dysphagia. After successful enucleation of mass through transthoracic approach, we report a case of giant leiomyoma with clinical, radiological and pathological review of this disease.
